Activism does not take a holiday!
“The global pandemic remains firmly at hand, but we can be thankful that organizations and unions like the Society of United Professionals (SUP) remain committed to supporting diversity, equity and inclusion, pandemic or not,” said Kincardine Pride President, Fort Papalia. “A late October day saw SUP Bruce Local Vice President, Dave Ceksters, put that commitment into action with a generous donation to Kincardine Pride.”
Ceksters, when asked about the donation said that, “We simply wanted everyone to know that the SUP is not only a sponsor of KP, but a proud sponsor of Kincardine Pride”.
KP, Secretary, Gord Dunbar, and KP Board member, Dave Trumble, attended the cheque presentation with Ceksters and Papalia saying that “Perhaps this is a prediction of better times ahead and hope for in-person Pride celebrations in June of 2022.”
The SUP is an ongoing and generous supporter of Kincardine Pride and many more socially progressive initiatives. Along with all the valued support from the Kincardine community and organizations like the SUP and beyond, Papalia expresses optimism “… in the future of diversity, equity and inclusion as a way of life for all of us.”
