Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation recently received a donation from the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 155 Southampton and the Ladies’ Auxiliary’s Charitable Foundation.
The donation of $7,250, through the Legion Charitable Foundation, was part of the annual Remembrance Poppy Fund, where funds are raised each year through the sale of poppies to help veterans and the community at large.
“We are so happy to receive this donation,” said Hospital Foundation Executive Director, Tracy Murray. “The money will go toward the purchase of much-needed equipment for our hospital.”
“The Legion is always pleased to be able to help community projects such as our local hospital,” added Legion Branch President, Mike Jukes. “Each year, the Poppy fund is our major fundraiser and money raised not only goes back into the community but also helps our veterans and their families.”
