The Rotary Club of Southampton has embraced the spirit of giving this holiday season through a series of significant community initiatives that demonstrate their commitment to local support and development.

In response to community needs, Rotarians delivered essential care packages to local police, supporting their efforts to assist individuals in crisis. The backpacks, containing fresh clothing, personal care items, and Tim Hortons gift cards, were presented to Sgt. Andy Evans. Local business Saugeen Shores Family Dentistry contributed dental hygiene supplies to this initiative.

When the Women’s House experienced an unfortunate flood that damaged Christmas presents, Southampton Rotary quickly stepped in with a $500 contribution to ensure families would still experience holiday joy through replacement gifts and toys.
The club’s commitment to youth development shone through at the G.C. Huston Christmas Concert, where Rotarians presented three new instruments valued at over $4,000 to aspiring musicians. Two trumpets and an alto saxophone were donated through the ‘Fund A Need’ campaign and a Rotary District Grant, with additional instruments planned for local schools in the New Year.

A donation of $250 was made to the Queen’s Bar and Grill Community Christmas Dinner, and through a member collection, 39 hams were delivered to the Salvation Army Food Bank.

The club is also offering 1938 Coffee and commemorative mugs through their partnership with Dizzy Bird. These items make the perfect stocking stuffers. Contact: Sylvia Sheard, Community Service Chair. 519-797-3151.
The holiday season also marks Southampton Rotary’s popular fundraising initiative: Dinner of the Month tickets, available from any Southampton Rotarian. Tickets are $25 each or five for $100, offering twelve chances to win throughout 2025.
