Special Olympians and Police partner on annual FUNdraiser

Despite a rainy day on Wednesday, May 22nd, Saugeen Shores Police and Special Olympians set off along Port Elgin’s Goderich Street in the annual ‘bucket brigade’ fundraising.

Cycling and running, the group began at the local Port Elgin Cinema and continued to Maple Square Mall at Catherine Street … in record time!

Along the way, they collected funds in their pails and, despite the weather that resulted in small crowds, they managed to collect more than $300.  Although the event is an annual fundraiser, it is more about raising awareness about Special Olympics.
