Silent Auction:

We have received a number of fun items that we will be included in an online Silent Auction. We recognize that many of our traditional sponsors are suffering due to COVID-19, so we are not formally asking for assistance but if anyone is able and you would like to assist call Tony

Tel: 519 797 3151 and he will be happy to discuss how you can help.

Our Cause:

To establish a fund that the Saugeen Shores Police Service may use at their discretion, to assist and offer a helping hand to both victims, offenders and their children and to meet basic humanitarian needs.

Our Challenge

Southampton Rotary will match donations dollar for dollar up to $2,500.
Please help us reach our goal of $5,000.

This new fund is based on a proposal by Rotarian John Vanbastelaar and developed in consultation with Police Chief Kevin Zettel.

John Vanbastelaar said, “After a year at looking at the housing crisis in our town, it was realized that there was a wider spectrum of needs, hence the Saugeen Shores Police Contingency Fund was born after Southampton Rotary listened to a presentation by our Police Chief.

At times people have no place to stay, or are in need of a warm meal or some basic necessities. This fund will give a helping hand to someone going through a difficult time. The fund will provide backpacks that will carry someone over for a day or two until a more robust solution is determined.

Children are often brought in to the police station for a variety of reasons and this fund will also ensure that activity kits are available to allow expression through drawings.

These are our preliminary goals but we hope this fund will eventually become self-sustaining and continue to help people in desperate need.”
