Stopped vehicle results in drug charges

On Friday, January 11th, 2019 at 5:45am an officer spotted a vehicle being driven in a suspicious manner on Railway Street in Southampton.

The officer stopped the vehicle and made observations of drug possession. An at-scene investigation revealed that driver and female passenger were in possession of 28 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine with a street value of $3200.

The plates attached to the vehicle were discovered to have been stolen from the Town of Hanover.

The driver and passenger were both arrested and held for a bail hearing in Walkerton.

The 25 year old male and 24 year old female, both from Hanover, have been charged with:

1. Possession of a Controlled Substance for the purpose of trafficking

(methamphetamine)

2. Possession of property obtained by crime x 2

3. Breach of Probation (female only)
