Summer starting another season of live theatre in Southampton

The official start of Summer is only days away and that means live theatre returns to Southampton (Saugeen Shores) at the historic Town Hall.

The Bruce County Playhouse is gearing up for a busy production season with the first play, Sexy Laundry, ready to launch on Thursday, June 22nd.

Leslie McNamara, Promotion Directors, says that, “This month we were asked about how the actors prepare for the play. All of our summer shows are performed by professional actors. This means they learn their lines, their stage movements, their cues and practise with costumes and props. and whatever else it takes – in three weeks!!

Our sets are being built, our costumes and props are being collected, our rehearsals are happening now! We will be ready for the Gala Opening Night Thursday, June 22! There is still time to join the happy crowd coming to the Opening Night Gala.”

The premiere BCP performance of Sexy Laundry, by Michele Riml, directed by Natalie Robitaille and starring the very talented duo of Thomas Albrecht and Samantha Colwell-Castles is funny and poignant – but contains strong mature content and language. The ticket price of only $45 includes hors-d’oeuvres, and an hour of gentle jazz by the Charlie Bell Trio.

Doors open at 6:45. Limited tickets are still available at brucecountyplayhouse.com OR click the image below.

Alternatively, if there are still tickets left, they will be for sale at the Southampton Arts Centre on Wednesday, June 21st between 12 noon and 4:00 p.m.
