Summer theatre ends but Sunday Showcase plans begin for Bruce County Playhouse

On August 27th, Bruce County Playhouse ended the summer with its second ‘Crazy Hat’ musical garden party FUNdraiser in a garden gem tucked away in Southampton.

With a winding rill amid a park-like setting, patrons of the arts relaxed and, while sipping on punch, enjoyed musical entertainment by Tim Bellamy on mandolin and Doug Vandenkieboom on guitar, followed with vocals by Christine John, accompanied by Bruce Vanderklein, and Natalie Robitaille, director of the Playhouse.

The second Garden Party FUNdraiser, organized by Leslie McNamara (Promotional Director for the BC Playhouse), was sported as a ‘Crazy Hat’ event and, while some chose to wear conservative chapeaux,  others went with the fun ‘crazy’ theme.

Penelope and Abigail Martin kept count of the guests

While summer plays are over for the season, the Bruce County Playhouse is gearing up for its annual winter Sunday Showcase series that is held on the last Sunday of each winter month beginning in January.  The Sunday afternoon series offers local talent from across the area the opportunity to perform and is free to the public (although donations are gratefully accepted to maintain live theatre).
