One individual was charged with robbery after police investigated a disturbance on Saugeen First Nation.
On October 31, 2023, at 4:04 p.m. the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a disturbance on Saugeen First Nation. Through investigation it was determined that the suspect lured the victim to a secluded area where a physical confrontation occurred causing non-life-threatening injuries to the victim. During the physical confrontation, property of the victim was stolen.
As a result, a 30-year-old individual from Saugeen First Nation was charged with:
- Robbery with Violence
- Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm
The accused has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Investigators believe that this is a targeted incident that remains under investigation. The OPP remind all members of the public to always be always aware of their personal safety.
