The final ‘Bring TOM to Town’ radiothon fundraising number is in

The Foundation in partnership with 97.9The Bruce held their annual ‘Light the Way’ 12-hour radiothon yesterday, December 9th (2021). The goal for the day was to try and hit $200,000 to go towards the $3 million CT scanner campaign “Bring Tom to Town”.

This year, with the support and generosity of listeners along with area residents the Light the Way Radiothon raised a record breaking $251,550 dollars in 12 hours!!

Executive Director of the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation, Tracy Murray said that, “The Foundation and its Board Members are completely thrilled by the final numbers of this year’s radiothon but aren’t surprised by the outpouring of support since the people, businesses, sports clubs and even the kids of Saugeen Shores and the surrounding communities have been overwhelmingly supportive of the Foundation … and this year was no exception. People really have connected with the Bring TOM to Town campaign and realize the importance and vital need of bringing a Computed TOMography (CT) scanner to Bruce County.”

Yesterday’s event brings the ‘Bring TOM To Town’ CT fundraising total to just over $1 million toward the $3 million campaign that launched in late October.
