Community Foundation Grey Bruce arrived in Port Elgin on August 9th as Wendy Bachiu, volunteer Mary Jane Murray and co-op student, Emma Bognar continued their summer road trip.
Stopping at Cenotaph Park, they presented a grant of $2,459 to Mike Atkinson for the general up-keep of the park.
The Park located on Elgin Street in Port Elgin, with its gardens and benches, has become a favourite spot to simply sit and reflect. 
New monument to the ‘fallen’ in service has been installed
Prior to making their stop in Port Elgin, the Foundation also presented grants in Southampton to:

Marine Heritage Chantry Island $3,320
Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre: Roly Fenwick Exhibit $2,000
