The Wismer House to host fundraiser for musicians off to Memphis

The Wismer House in Port Elgin is hosting a fundraiser for musicians Tyler Pantlin and Mike MacDonald (Shakey Trill) who are off to Memphis in January to compete in an international blues competition.

“We are looking for musicians to donate time and talent to support this event,” says Wismer’s owner Jeff Carver. “The fundraiser will be held at the Wismer House on December 7th (2018) 8:00 p.m. to closing time. Backline ( P.A. , amplifiers, drums and instruments will be provided).

The Wismer House has been a strong supporter for live music for over 10 years and, as a result, has encouraged other venues to follow suit. The focus has always been on blues and rock, but we try to mix in reggae, jazz and RnB to mix things up.

“Tyler Pantlin and Mike MacDonald have played with a variety of different bands during this time,” adds Carver, “and to show our appreciation, The Wismer House will be kicking off the fundraising efforts for this incredible opportunity by covering the cost of flights to Memphis for the competition as well as raffling off a pair of Toronto Maple Leaf tickets on Friday, December 7th.

Please respond to The Wismer House via email (thewismer@gmail.com) if you are interested and able to perform for any duration of time. Your contribution will be very much appreciated.
