The South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested and charged three motorists with impaired driving in two days.
- On November 13, 2023, at 1:50 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received a driving complaint in Brant Township. Officers located the vehicle and found that the driver had been drinking alcohol. A 35-year-old male, from Carrick Township was charged with Impaired Driving and Operate over 80 milligrams. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton on January 10, 2024, to answer to the charges.
- On November 12, 2023, at 6:50 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received a report of a crash involving a vehicle and a tractor along Concession 10 in Greenock Township. Officers responded with members of the Walkerton Fire Department. One of the drivers was found to have been drinking alcohol. A 38-year-old female, from the Municipality of Kincardine was charged with Operate over 80 milligrams. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton on December 13, 2023, to answer to the charge. There were minor injuries reported at the scene.
- On November 12, 2023, at 4:26 a.m., a South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer on patrol along Queen Street north in Paisley stopped a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV). The driver was found to have been drinking alcohol. A 23-year-old female, from Arran-Elderslie Township was charged with Operate over 80 milligrams. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton on December 13, 2023, to answer to the charge.
An impaired driving charge includes an immediate 90-day driver’s license suspension and an immediate 7-day vehicle impoundment.
