“I want to set an example that will never be forgotten.”
… Terry Fox
With less than a week to go before the 43rd Annual Terry Fox run, local residents of Saugeen Shores are getting ready to tie up their shoes and head out to raise money for cancer research. Whether you are walking or running, riding a bike, roller blading, pushing a scooter, all are welcome!
Register the day of the event, or online at terryfox.org

1pm: Opening ceremonies, start of event – 2k, 5k or 10K- you decide!
From the start banner, the course heads north to Southampton along the paved shore trail. For those going 5k, the halfway mark is north of the 10th Concession. For those going the full 10k, the halfway mark is just south of Bay Street. Marshalls will be along the course.
Once again, Fitness Corner South is providing the post event snacks, so plan to stay afterward to mingle and meet with friends.
Don’t forget to bring your cameras. This year you can get a photo taken beside the life-sized poster of Terry Fox!
Last year the community of Saugeen Shores raised a whopping $23,000 for cancer research, and that doesn’t count the funds raised by our local schools! In addition, over 500 residents from Saugeen Shores pitched in to help by volunteering, pledging or participating in the Terry Fox Run.
“We hope everyone will join us at Northshore Park on Sunday, September 17th,” says Geordie Farrell. “Let’s prove that Terry Fox’s legacy is more than just a run.”
EVERYONE is welcome … all ages, all abilities!
