It’s that time of year again when Christmas and the holiday season is just around the corner but, for some, it can be a stressful time of year. The Salvation Army Kettle program is about to begin to help those in need throughout the season and, in Saugeen Shores, volunteers are needed. Organizer Diane Thorne says that volunteers are always needed if, for only a few hours a weekend.
“We are only holding the Kettle Program on weekends only this year beginning December 1st. Volunteers are only asked to help out from noon to 2:30 p.m., 2:30 – 4:00 p.m. or 4:00 – 6:30 p.m.. There are four locations but one has already been filled (Southampton Foodland), so we still needs volunteers for Rowland’s Independent Grocer, Giant Tiger and Wal-Mart.” For anyone who can spare any time, contact Thorne at 519-797-3897 OR leave a message. The goal this year is $27,500 over 12 days – December 1,6,7,8,13,14,15,20,21,22
