Traffic stop leads to criminal charges

The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop which led to four individual’s facing charges.

On July 27th, 2024, at 3:45 a.m., the Grey Bruce OPP were patrolling Pashwood Drive in Saugeen First Nation and observed a vehicle that was drawing a trailer without lights. Police conducted a traffic stop on the motor vehicle.  Through investigation the police found that the driver was a prohibited driver. During a search of the motor vehicle, a controlled substance was located.

A 44-year-old of Wellington County was charged with the following operation while prohibited under the criminal code, possession of a schedule I substance.

A 51 year-old of Neyaashiinigmiing First Nation was charged with, possession of a schedule I substance – opioid (other than heroin)

A 26 year-old of Saugeen First Nation was charged with, possession of a schedule I substance – opioid (other than heroin)

A 28 year-old of Saugeen First Nation was charged with, possession of a schedule I substance – opioid (other than heroin).

All accused parties are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton on August 28, 2024.
