Jean Boisvert (nee Dolores Georgina Morse in Great Britain) will be 100 years old on November 8th, 2021.
She served in the British Army and has many memories of surviving the London bombing, racing into the underground or diving into her parents’ backyard bomb shelter.
She was a switchboard operator and talented singer with the Aldershot base band and fell in love with the band leader, Pete Boisvert (deceased) a French-Canadian soldier. They married at the end of World War II and she came to Canada as a War Bride arriving at Pier 21 in Halifax several months ahead of her new husband and already expecting their first child.
Her two sons and their wives, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren wish her a Happy Birthday and many happy returns! Ironically, Jean’s eldest granddaughter, Andrea, now lives in England with her husband, son and daughter.
Jean recently received the first poppy of the 2021 Poppy Campaign by Port Elgin Legion Branch 340.
