Volunteers turn out for TD Tree Days major planting in Port Elgin

TD Tree Days was a huge success in Saugeen Shores on Sunday, September 23 with 30 volunteers planting 150 trees along the Saugeen Rail Trail behind the Plex and Skate Park.  TD Tree Days is a program of TD Friends of the Environment Foundation (TD FEF) that provides employees, their families and friends and the community with the opportunity to volunteer in planting trees in their local environments.

The trees were purchased by the TD Bank through their TD Tree Days Green Streets program and supplied through the Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority (SVCA) who organizes the delivery and selection of the trees to be planted.  TD Green Streets has been in partnership with Trees Canada that has planted some 80 million trees across Canada in order to improve the urban canopy.
