Bruce County Library hosts a Sweet Talk with Great Canadian Baking contestants

Baking show fans were in for a sweet treat, as Bruce County Public Library Port Elgin hosted the season 7 contestants from The Great Canadian Baking Show for a special two-part event on Saturday, May 17.

Local resident Niv Menon-Saberi from Saugeen Shores reunited with her fellow cast mates – Kathy Neiman, Andrew Evers, Camila Garcia Hernandez, Loic Fauteux-Goulet, and Candice Riley for this exciting afternoon.

The event kicked off with a Q&A panel where the audience was able to ask questions and hear first-hand stories from the talented bakers, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the competition, challenges and creativity behind their show-stopping creations. Following the panel, a one-hour meet-and-greet was open to the public, allowing guests to chat with the bakers, take photos, and sample some Instagram worthy mini pavlovas with raspberry and lemon curds, as well as other baked treats.

“It was exciting to bring such a unique and engaging event to our community. Baking is both an art and a science, and hearing directly from the contestants was an inspiring experience for both bakers and foodies alike,” said Library Director Brooke McLean.
