
Impaired Operation: On March 20th 2026 at approximately 11:35am Saugeen Shores Police responded to a report of a suspected impaired driver in the Town of Port Elgin. Officers were able to locate the vehicle in the area of Foodland in Southampton. The driver was subjected to a roadside breath screening which registered a FAIL.
As a result of this investigation a 20-year-old female of Neyaashiinigmiing was charged with several offences:
– Operation while Impaired (80 plus)
– Driving while under suspension
– Failure to have insurance card
– Young driver – B.A.C. above zero
The vehicle was impounded and her licence was further suspended. She was released on an Appearance Notice with a future court date.
STOLEN VEHICLE: Saugeen Shores Police are looking to locate a black 2025 Ford Escape with licence plate #DEYH625. This vehicle was reported stolen on March 18th 2026. The vehicle has a slight dent in the hatch door. If you happen to observe this vehicle please contact your local police service.
If you are currently in possession of this vehicle we suggest that you park it in a public parking lot to be located or return it to the owner.

Arrest in Mischief Investigation: On March 6th 2026 we posted an image of an adult male who was caught on CCTV causing mischief to a local business on High Street. That male was identified and has since been arrested and charged accordingly. He has been released on an undertaking with conditions and a future court date.
Security cameras played a big part in being able to identify a suspect and hold them responsible. We suggest all businesses (and residences) invest in cameras in case you also fall victim to a crime.
Arson investigation: The Saugeen Shores Police are investigating an arson and break and enter that occurred in the area of Bruce Road 40 on March 14, 2026. The incident was reported to Police at 3:53am. Investigators are asking anyone who may have been in the area to review any dash cam footage or CCTV and report anything deemed to be suspicious.
