Bruce Men’s Shed: Spring build-a-thon set to begin

By Gerry Tilmans

Bruce Men’s Shed owes a great deal to a number of media for our group’s growth outside of North Bruce. in a very short period of time our reputation grew by being able to communicate our achievements and activities. Hardly a week goes by these days without a phone call or email, asking about something they read, how they can join, or inquire about a product our woodworkers made. We have had calls from Chesley, Kincardine, Blue Mountain and points in between and we appreciate the interest.

That leads us to another perk of writing this; putting a plug in to let people know that we are again building raised planters this spring. We are also taking orders for wren houses in either a hanging version or one that can be mounted on a platform, a building or a tree. If you’re interested in joining us for a build-a-thon, where we plan to make 40 to 50 bird houses in kit form, just contact us.

Our next monthly Saturday meeting is April 18th from 9am-11am. Every Monday morning we meet for coffee from 9am-11am at Canadian Legion Branch 202, 6 Hellyer Road on Highway 6, 4 km north of Ferndale. Doors open at 8:45. There is also a Bruce Men’s Shed coffee gathering every Wednesday at 10 am in Wiarton at 451 Frank street, Matthew Mutch hosting.

If you would like further information on how to get involved with the Men’s Shed movement, please contact us at brucemensshed@gmail.com or call Gerry at (519) 793–3005.
