To say that Cheryl and Glen Miller, owners of M&M in Port Elgin (Saugeen Shores), are excited is to put it mildly.
They are two teachers who decided to delve into the world of retail food services only four short years ago and, while they had a lot to learn, it has obviously resulted in rewards. At a conference recently held in Niagara-on-the-Lake, they were recognized as the number one M&M store in Canada.
Out of 350 stores from coast to coast, their Port Elgin store was recognized with two awards – number one ‘Store of the Year 2025’ in Canada and top store in the Club of Excellence.
The Club of Excellence award is based on a company matrix or goals where an M&M location meets all the standards including customer service. Out of 25 stores that met most of the levels of required standards, Port Elgin M&M met them all and walked away with the award.
“We absolutely have to thank our staff and customers,” say the Millers. “They have made the difference. Our staff, Linda, Dawn and Nick, know our goals when it comes to customer service and we are so thankful for the loyalty of our customers. We are so honoured to be here.”
The Millers say that they learned even more at the conference when it comes to retail and customer service. “It was a wonderful experience and we were so amazed to receive these honours.”
