CFUW hosting free Public meeting – The challenges of housing in Saugeen Shores

       Mini Jacques, Chair,
      United Housing for All

Few feel more strongly that everyone deserves safe housing than Catherine (Mini) Jacques, Chair of Saugeen Shores ‘United Housing for All’.

Jacques, also a member of the Municipal Accessibility Committee and former Councillor, has long been an advocate for affordable and attainable housing in Saugeen Shores. “Unfortunately, too many people living in Saugeen Shores are facing challenges with finding safe, affordable housing, and the numbers are growing,” says Jacques. “As across the country, we are also seeing more and more unhoused (homeless) people here in Saugeen Shores.”

The Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) Southport is hosting an Open Public meeting where Jacques will speak on the housing challenges facing Saugeen shores.

Everyone deserves safe housing and this is an opportunity to find out who is being impacted, what Town officials are already doing in the housing sector and how each of us can help reduce homelessness.

Everyone is invited to attend the FREE event on May 13th (2026) at 7:00 p.m. at the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre Southampton.
