The Victoria Day long weekend, also known as May 24, is the time when the Southampton Yacht Club boats go back into the water for another season of boating on Lake Huron.
The exercise is always weather dependent and, this year, Mother Nature cooperated with a sunny day and no wind as the giant crane lifted each of the sailboats that had been in dry-dock for the winter at Southampton harbour at the mouth of the Saugeen River.
