It was a sweet treat for Little Cubs and Port Elgin Montessori when Co-operators Insurance in Port Elgin treated them to delicious ice cream on a warm summer day.
“We wanted to say a special thank to the Little Cubs and Port Elgin Montessori, who take such wonderful care of our local kids and who are wonderful neighbours,” says Stacey Catalano, Financial Planner/Owner. “It means so much to see businesses, educators, families, and neighbours come together in these simple, joyful moments that make our community feel so special. Seeing these sweet little ones pass by our window is such an uplifting part of our day.”
Amy and Gareth Richards are the owners of Sweet Seasons Ice Cream Truck, a wonderful local business built on passion, vision, and a dream.
They began with a childhood memory. Growing up in South Wales, Amy loved hearing the familiar sound of the ice cream van as it travelled through her neighbourhood. After moving to Canada in 2016, she missed that tradition and wished families here could experience the same joy. When she spotted her first Canadian ice cream truck in 2023, she knew it was time to turn her dream into reality.
Together, Amy and Gareth have built Sweet Seasons from the ground up – not just to sell ice cream, but to create smiles, bring neighbourhoods together, and make lasting memories for families throughout Saugeen Shores.
What started as a simple idea has grown into a thriving family business, proving that with hard work, determination, and a dollop of courage, dreams really can come true.
“At The Co-operators, we understand what it takes to own and grow a business,” adds Catalano. “We’re proud to play a supporting role in the journeys of local entrepreneurs like Amy and Gareth—helping to take care of the less exciting things, like insurance, so they can focus on what they do best: serving our community and bringing their vision to life.”
