Saugeen Shores airport in Port Elgin is considered one of the finest grass-land airstrips in southwestern Ontario.
Flying Club President John Willets recently hosted a welcoming BBQ for flyers. “It was a time to talk about the CG-VUR and options for restoring and updating the aircraft’s interior. I wanted to hear everyone’s thoughts and ideas on what we could do and how to fund it.”

It was a chance for pilots to get together, swap a few flying stories, share ideas and spend an evening with fellow aviators.
Mayor Luke Charbonneau and Councillor Dave Myette also attended the evening. “The airport is hugely important for the community,” said Myette. “It brings people into the community.”
