It was Horsepower on the Greens at the 3rd annual PRANCE golf fundraiser

It was ‘Horsepower on the Greens’ when PRANCE Equestrian Centre in Port Elgin (Saugeen Shores) held its third annual golf tournament on Friday, September 26th (2026).

Kria was the special guest at this year’s event and she proved to be gentle and amenable to having her photo taken.

The tournament this year partnered with 7GEN Industrial based in Kincardine. The company works on the Indigenous Seventh Generation Principle where the wisdom of Indigenous culture and its seven teachings guides the decisions that the company makes today to result in a sustainable world “seven generations into the future”.  President Jason Munro said that it is the company’s philosophy to “.. give back to the community, so we were only too happy to partner with PRANCE.”

Sixty golfers took to the links in perfect weather before returning for a harvest dinner provided by local businesses – Black Angus Fine Meats in Thornbury, UNIFOR Family Education Centre (chicken), Crust and Crackle (sourdough bread), Dizzy Bird (coffee) and Dave Ceksters farm (vegetables) and prepared by Chef Bill of the Elk & Finch in Southampton.

“We so appreciate all of our sponsors, donors and volunteers” said PRANCE Executive Director, Ann Marie Johnston. “This is a major fundraiser for PRANCE and it helps us to care for our horses and provide the best possible therapeutic horse-based programs, such as our Literacy for young students, our Seniors program and more.”

Although a final total raised has not yet been determined, one source said that the auction was “amazing … it was incredible how people were so supportive”.
