Become an HFH volunteer or Pedal for Progress

Everyone agrees that housing has become a major issue not only in Saugeen Shores and Bruce County but across the province and the country.

Habitat for Humanity (HFH) however, continues to try to make a difference when it comes to the local attainable housing crisis.

On Monday, June 26th, Habitat for Humanity is inviting everyone to take a one-hour tour of a build site at Saugeen First Nation on Eagle Street. (contact: uhfa2022@gmail.com).  For those interested in trying their hand at construction, join the ‘United Housing for All’ members as a HFH volunteer from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday with a possible follow-up opportunity in August.

For those who do not want to be a part-time ‘construction worker’, you can still help out by getting on your bicycle at the ‘Pedal for Progress’ on July 20th and join the Winnipeg Cycle of Hope members who are cycling a total distance of 782 km with an average daily distance of some 112 km.  In Bruce County, they will begin their ride at Tobermory before stopping in Southampton.

The 1K route, starting at the Coliseum and wending its way through downtown Southampton between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. is to show your support for ‘United Housing for All’ and have fun while doing it.  Refreshments and Entertainment will be provided and … there is no admission. (fund-raising donations however are always encouraged). For more information, contact: uhfa2022@gmail.com
