Boats go to bed for the winter in Port Elgin

It’s that time of year again when boats in Saugeen Shores go to bed for the winter.

In Southampton, they were lifted out of the Saugeen River over Thanksgiving weekend and, here in Port Elgin, it was their turn on Saturday, October 17th (2026).

From sailboats to houseboats and cabin cruisers, it’s a Fall ritual for those who boat on Lake Huron during the summer months.
