Breakers Swim Team makes waves at Out of the Gate Long Course

The Breakers Swim Team took part in the Out of the Gate Long Course Swim Meet in Guelph on January 25th.

The Breakers had seven swimmers competing and all swimmers finished with a Top 3 finish, as well six of the swimmers recorded at least two Personal Best Times (PB). Breakers Swim Team’s Aurora Jacobi set a new Breakers Club Record in the 15 & Over 400m Free with a time of 4:50:33, beating the previous club record held since 2002 by an impressive 16 seconds.

In the 11 & 12 year old Girls, Emma Aldridge got 4 PB times, 1st in the 200m Free, 4th in the 50m Free, as well as 5th in the 100m Back and 100m Free. Kenzie Bourassa finished with 4 PB times, 1st in the 50m Free and 200m Back, and placing 3rd in the 100m Free, as well as 4th in the 100m Back.

In the 15 and Over Girls age group, Aurora Jacobi finished with 4 PB times, 1st in 50m Free, 100m Free, and 200m Free. Jacobi also placed 2nd in the 400m Free which set a new Breakers Club Record.

In the 13 year old Boys, Matthew Bull brought home 4 PB times including 1st place finishes in the 50m Free, 50m Back, and 200m IM. Matthew also got a 2nd place finish in the 400m Free.

In the 15 & Over Boys, Brady Phillips had 4 PB times, as well as 3rd in the 200m Breast, and 5th in the 100m Breast. Zachary McEwen had 2 PB times, as well as 2nd in the 200m IM, and 4th in the 400m Free. Jayson Horseman placed 1st in the 200m Breast, 3rd in the 50m Free, 400m Free, and 50m Breast.

The Breakers will be competing at the 2020 Collingwood Developmental Meet on February 9th in Collingwood.
