Bruce Power and its supplier partners have donated $125,000 to the Gran Fondo Lake Huron, which supports health care and hospital needs in the Brightshores Health System.
“Gran Fondo is a lifeline to local and regional health care improvement initiatives,” said James Scongack, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice-President, Bruce Power. “It’s important for Bruce Power to work closely with supplier partners and the community to help bring technological advances that improve patient care. Enabling Brightshores Health System to replace key mammography equipment is just one more step in that direction.”
The combined donation will aid in the purchase of three-dimensional imaging that helps radiologists view dense breast tissue for critical and timely health care determinations.
“Bruce Power and its suppliers’ contributions have made a tangible difference in the lives of countless individuals by enabling the purchase of life-saving equipment, including defibrillators, crash carts, cardiac monitors, a new CT scanner and now, with this year’s support, key mammography equipment,” said Graham Martin, Executive Director of the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation. “Bruce Power’s dedication to improving health care in our region has also provided leadership for others to follow and join in the cause. Together, we are making a lasting impact on the health and well-being of our community.”
