Like many organizations, volunteers are the building blocks of the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre (BCM&CC) and each fall they are celebrated at an appreciation event. Things may be different this year, however the appreciation that volunteers felt at the Museum remains exactly the same.
On Wednesday, September 30, 2020 volunteers were invited to a socially distanced event where they were celebrated and received a special gift. Volunteers and staff were happy to see one another to reminisce on the events of 2020. For more information, visit https://www.brucemuseum.ca/volunteer/
The Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre is proud to provide many different opportunities of involvement and reported that in 2019 volunteers contributed a combined total of 3,125 hours, including 408 hours by youth. To put this into perspective, that is the equivalent of 1.8 full-time employees working 35 hours a week for a full 52 weeks of the year. These are significant contributions in the execution of programs, events and the general operations of the Museum.
If you are interested in becoming part of a team that is truly making a difference by preserving Bruce County’s past and providing meaningful contributions to the community visit brucemuseum.ca to learn how you can participate.
