The Chantry Island Cham-bettes are very excited to announce the 16th Annual Christmas Tour of Homes.
They have selected seven spectacular homes, each unique in their architecture and decor style.
These beautifully decorated homes will showcase what’s new and exciting in holiday decor and, once again, they have the support of Interior Motives, Mowbray’s Canadian Tire, Home Hardware and Accents.
The Christmas Tour of Homes will be held on Friday, November 15th from 6:00pm – 9:30pm and Saturday, November 16th from 11:00am – 3:00pm. Tickets are only $30 and can be purchased starting October 11th at Accents in Port Elgin or L & Co. in Southampton. A limited number of tickets will be available for each day so purchase early to avoid disappointment. There will be no tickets available for purchase at the homes.
The proceeds of the tour will be shared between the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation and the “Just Add Water” campaign for Saugeen Shores new Aquatic & Wellness Centre.
This year’s tour promises to inspire and get you in the spirit of Christmas. You definitely don’t want to miss this one!
First on the list is the Hartel home on Pegasus Trail in Port Elgin.

It was the process of designing and completing the build of her first home in 2010 that established Britt Hartel’s passion for Interior Design and for the process of making a house truly a home. From there, Britt welcomed her son in 2014 and went back to the drawing board to design a home that felt more secluded and suited to her preferences. Her vision was a private, natural oasis, nestled in the trees; a home that promised comfort regardless of the season.
The home features functionally defined spaces that offer luxurious living complete with large windows carefully placed to draw your eyes to the surrounding hardwood forest. The natural limestone fireplaces radiate warmth and comfort on even the coldest winter nights.

This unique home, built by Mark Berner (Berner Contracting) called for custom. The custom kitchen and cabinetry were designed by Britt and brought to life by Exquisite Wood Designs. The raw, wide plank oak flooring was selected for its authentic feel under foot. Most of the furniture pieces are custom and finished in a custom stain, each made intentionally for the space.

Special attention was paid to the light fixtures in each room.
The carefully selected fixtures offer layered lighting and many act as an artful addition to the space. Each and every detail of this home was curated to quietly elevate.
Natural limestone continues from the fireplaces to the outdoor living space which boasts jumbo flagstone, a custom designed pool and sauna that comfortably seats eight.
Throughout the home you will notice a cohesive, calming feel, inspired by nature and lovingly curated with Britt’s expertise and eye for design.
Britt welcomes you to her home.
