Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce (SSCC) recently welcomed new businesses to Port Elgin on November 9th. Among those attending the ribbon-cutting openings organized by Christine Mitchell,SSCC Business Development Coordinator, were Mayor Luke Charbonneau, SSCC Board members Steve Harris, Michelle Kay-Scott, and Erin Aldridge.
As is the custom, Saugeen Shores Economic Development Officer, Heather Hyde, gifted a welcoming plant to each owner, representing putting down roots and growing in the community.
Guac Mexi Grill
In August 2021, Harsh Patel and his wife Bina Dungarani opened Guac Mexi Grill, their first business in Saugeen Shores. Making the move to Port Elgin from Brampton and opening the Canadian franchise was an easy decision.
Guac Mexi Grill offers a variety of delicious Mexican food including burritos, quesadillas, tacos, nachos, churros, and refreshing Mexican drinks. They take pride in using the freshest ingredients, customized to suit your taste. After the ribbon cutting, Harsh and Bina generously gave attendees a made to order free Burrito — a tasty treat! Guac Mexi Grill is located at 1246 Goderich Street in Port Elgin, open 11am daily until 9pm and Sundays until 8pm. They have Taco Tuesday specials every week. River Rock Virtual Assistance
Christine Dabek moved back to Saugeen Shores to be closer to her family. With that move came the opportunity to open River Rock Virtual Assistance in June of 2020.
Services include email management, appointment setting, invoicing, payroll and all office administration. Christine enjoys the virtual format as it works for her family and schedule. River Rock Virtual Assistance works with both large and small businesses, freeing up important time for business owners by taking on administrative tasks. Counselling Bruce County
Counselling Bruce County opened in Saugeen Shores in December 2020. It is a welcome and complimentary addition to health services in the community.
Working with her team, owner and primary therapist Ashley Baldwin (MSW, RSW), is currently located at 594 Goderich Street, but will move to the new Powerlink building in the spring of 2022. Day and evening appointments are available which makes their services accessible for shift workers in our community. Counselling and Psychotherapy services are also covered by most insurance companies. Counselling Bruce County offers both in-person and virtual sessions, for individuals and couples.
