Christmas Tour of Homes a FUNdraising success for local health care

A peak into the wonderful homes that were opened to the public during the recent Chantry Island Cham-bettes annual 2021 Christmas Tour of Homes held on November 12th and 13th.  Each home was uniquely decorated with time and decorations donated by designers and local retialers.

The Crossett home in Southampton has taken an older home and created a meld of old and new.  A recent addition that includes an open kitchen and family room retains an old-world cozy atmosphere while incorporating all the modern amenities.

Upstairs the addition includes a master bedroom with sitting area and Juliette balcony where the French doors open onto the sweeping backyard in the summer.

Decor was designed and completed by Cham-bettes Donna Thomas, Vi Campbell and Jo-Anne Willetts with decorations from Mowbray’s Canadian Tire in Port Elgin.

The MacDermid home is a fantasy in white but, with two little girls at home, is also a delight. Homeschooled the girls have a little hidden gem of a playroom beneath the stairs perfect for those who can fit in it.

The downstairs features a cozy TV watching room with a pool table for the adults.

The Perkins Home in Port Elgin, with a wrap-around veranda is filled with light. Wall-to-wall French doors open to an outdoor living room – dining room complete with wood-burning fireplace.  Indoors, the open concept kitchen, dining room and living area lends itself to family time.

The O’Neill home is a minimalist style with an unparalleled view of Lake Huron.  The home is open concept on three levels overlooking Miramichi Bay.  This year, the home was the chosen Hospital Foundation home on the Christmas Tour of Homes fundraiser for the local hospital.
