Jon Hepplewhite of Dizzy Bird presented a $1,000 cheque to the Rotary Club of Southampton on Friday, January 10th at 10:00 AM at the Dizzy Bird High Street location.

The fundraising initiative, which launched in November 2024, featured a rich Mexican dark roast coffee created specifically for this partnership. The blend, named to honor the founding year of the Southampton Rotary Club, has proven to be a hit with local coffee enthusiasts while supporting vital community programs.

“This partnership illustrates the power of local businesses and service organizations working together,” says Tony Sheard, President of the Southampton Rotary Club. “The success of the 1938 Blend shows how something as simple as sharing a cup of coffee can make a meaningful difference in our community.”

The collaboration continues to offer opportunities for community support, with a few limited edition 1938 branded mugs still available for a $15 donation to Southampton Rotary. The proceeds support Rotary’s ongoing community service initiatives both locally in Saugeen Shores and internationally.

“We have a surprise,” said Rotary’s Mary Halbert. “Rotary and Dizzy Bird are continuing their collaboration and Jon will add another special ‘Rotary’ coffee in the Spring to complement his already extensive selections of coffees that are available at Dizzy Bird.”

From Coffee to Community Service, immediately following the cheque presentation, Rotary members began dismantling the annual Christmas display at Perkins Park. The club welcomes public feedback on potential new ideas for improvements to enhance this display for future years.
