Saugeen Shores’ Corporate Communications Strategy has received a Gold MarCom Award in the category of Strategic Communications, Communications/Public Relations. MarCom Awards is an international creative competition that recognizes outstanding marketing and communications. The Awards are administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals.
“The Town of Saugeen Shores has made a commitment to increase and enhance communication between the corporation and the public. Our Communication Strategy sets the stage with best practices, objectives that work for our organization and identifies the tools and measurements required for success. We’re proud of our commitment and we’re honoured to receive a Gold MarCom award for our strategy.” said Mayor Mike Smith.
The Corporate Communications Strategy was approved by Council in the fall of 2017, including seven objectives to better communication. Four objectives focus on internal communication while three objectives surround external communication. The goal of the strategy is “to establish Saugeen Shores as a two-way communications organization, both internally and externally, by effectively engaging our stakeholders to ensure a broader awareness and understanding of Town programs, initiatives, services and to tell our story”.
