This year over the Christmas season, the Salvation Army and Food Bank in Port Elgin, saw one of the highest community responses in memory.
From Food Drives by various organizations to funds donated, many families were able to helped over the holiday season.
Thanks to many volunteers and the community who donated, the kettle collection campaign experienced its most successful to date. According to sources, the goal had been $18,000 but more than $27,000 had been received.
