Bruce Power is asking Saugeen Shores residents to fill out a short survey as part of its Emergency Preparedness Evacuation Study.
Bruce Power is working in partnership with the Town of Saugeen Shores, Municipality of Kincardine and an independent third-party firm to determine evacuation times as part of its ongoing emergency preparedness planning.
In keeping with the company’s operating licence with the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC), Bruce Power is due to complete an updated Evacuation Time Estimate study as the last study was completed in 2016.
The Evacuation Time Estimate evaluates the time it would take residents in the various planning zones around the facility to evacuate in the unlikely event of a nuclear emergency. As part of the study, an independent third-party firm, KLD Engineering, is working with the Town of Saugeen Shores, the Municipality of Kincardine and Bruce Power to survey residents within these zones.
The survey responses will be used by KLD as part of its study. One member of each household is asked to participate. The survey will take less then five minutes to complete and is available at: https://BPsurvey.kld.engineering.
