Construction of the new Aquatic and Wellness Centre (AWC) in Port Elgin (Saugeen Shores) continues with an anticipated opening in December.
The facility is one of the town’s biggest capital project and will house an eight-lane pool, warm water leisure pool, a fitness and wellness centre, dual indoor gym and walking track in addition to several multi-use program areas.
The new AWC will help address the growing need for activities and facilities to serve what is one of the fastest growing populations in southwest Ontario and, in addition to being a regional recreational hub, the building also includes the town’s Municipal Offices.
The AWC will have a number of ways users can access the facility including Active Pass (membership), drop-in fees, and registered programs.
