David Mathias Uiselt
August 27, 1958 – March 24, 2020
With great sorrow his family announces the unexpected passing of David on Tuesday March 24th, 2020 at the age of 61 at the Lady Minto Hospital in Cochrane.
He was the son of the late Frederich & late Ella Uiselt (nee Neukamm). He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Melody, his daughters Myrissa Connors (Nicholas) and Chaylan Uiselt (Justin), his grandchildren Lilah Rose and Jase Nicholas. His siblings, the late Jim Uiselt, Evelyn Martin (Ken), Debra Houlette (Morgan), Brian Uiselt (Lucille), Betty Uiselt (Dale), and Steven Uiselt (Laura). In-laws, the late Bonnie Trapper, Ivan McComb (Louise), the late Albert McComb (Karen), Terrence McComb (Shirley), Elizabeth Kamalatisit (the late Richard), and Gerald McComb Jr. (Norma). Also survived by many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and his very good friends, Roger & Josephine Lamothe, and Lori Breton (Claude Trepanier) and her sons (Shawn, Tyler, & Dylan).
Above all, David cherished his time spent with his family; his wife and daughters, and his dear grandchildren. David enjoyed the companionship and hard-working relationship with his brother-in-law, Gerald Jr., who partnered with him on many projects. David loved his NASCAR, NHL hockey and his solitude. He was an avid ATV’er and snowmobiler back in the day. He loved time spent with his Moosonee Swamp Rats gang and spoke often of their adventures.
Special mention to the Moosonee Swamp Rats: Victor Miller, Gary Rheaume, Tim Burgess, Chuggie Gagnon, Gary Butcher, Richard Grom, Paul Cox, Gord Innes, Brian Innes, JO Sutherland, Billy Biedermann, late Preston Biedermann and his brother Brian Uiselt.
The family would like to thank the Cochrane EMS service, Bryan Kydd and Justin Malo. Also the nursing staff at Lady Minto Hospital; namely Rachel Gill, Megan Keuhl, Randi Mitchell, Michelle Beland, and Brianna Hunt. Special thanks to Dr. Theodore Small.
Private visitations will be held on Friday March 27th, 2020 at Irvine & Irvine funeral home, 149 Third Street West, Cochrane followed by cremation.
