An estimated crowd of more than 200 attended the opening ceremonies on Wednesday evening at Saugeen Golf Club. The highlight for many was the official first tee shot by Jack Northey, down the middle of the fairway as always.
Competition begins Thursday, September 12, 2024 with the first tee times from 7:30 to 9:30am. The second set of tee times is from 12:30 to 2:30pm. There is no admission price for those that want to walk around and watch the players.
Thursday also marks the opening day for Golf Fest in the Coors Light Gardens. From 1:00pm to 8:30pm enjoy interactive games including a golf simulator, bucket golf, disc golf, the Port Elgin Chrysler Hole in One, beat the pro, food and beverages, a silent auction, plus live entertainment on the Bruce Power stage. A full event pass for Golf Fest is $50 for non members, $30 for members, $15 per daily pass, and free for children 16 and under as long as they are accompanied by an adult.
