- Enbridge Gas has discovered a suspected scam where fraudsters have created fake Enbridge Gas websites with false contact numbers. The scammers impersonate Enbridge Gas call centre agents and trick customers into providing them with credit card, account balance and other payment information over the phone claiming to pay their gas bill (sometimes at a discounted rate) but instead use the information for their own malicious purposes.
- Enbridge Gas does not offer discounts on natural gas bills, we don’t take credit card payments over the phone and would not require verification of your banking information to access your gas account.
- A series of social media ads are offering free smart thermostats, free energy savings kits, energy rebates or gas bill rebates. These ads are posted by various accounts who claim to be associated with Enbridge Gas.
- Customers have reported an email is being sent for a free heat pump.
