The Bluewater Education Foundation (BEF) is excited to announce some exciting developments at the Bluewater Outdoor Education Centre (BOEC), including the start of a significant kitchen renovation that will improve the facility for students, campers, and community users for years to come. This marks an exciting milestone in the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to improve and invest in the Centre.
The renovation will create a more functional and efficient commercial kitchen, with upgrades including new stainless-steel countertops, increased dry storage, upgraded appliances, and more!
The project has been made possible through the generous support of donors and the community as part of BEF’s 2026 capital campaign.
“This is a really exciting time,” said Meagan Hayward, Coordinator of Strategic Initiatives. “The kitchen is one of the most heavily used spaces at the Centre, and this renovation will make a tremendous difference in how we are able to serve the people who come here to learn, explore, and build connections with nature.”

There are a couple of exciting opportunities for the community to get involved this September.
BEF’s Music Among Nature Concert will take place on September 19, bringing live music, food, community, and the beauty of the BOEC together for an evening fundraiser.
That same day, BEF will also draw the winner of its bike raffle, offering supporters a chance to win a bike valued at approximately $600 while helping to support the work of the Foundation.
