In Bruce County, Fall is the time for fairs and, at Elgin Lodge Retirement Home in Port Elgin residents were treated to a fair of their own.
The Family Fun Fair featured all the fun of a traditional fair – outdoor games, a bake sale, raffle prizes, ice-cream and, of course, a BBQ. In addition, there was the ‘bunny house’ until the weather became too hot and the bunnies had to be retired.

“We wanted the residents to have some fun,” said Ann-Marie Collins, Marketing and Sales Director. “We were fortunate that the weather was perfect so that we could have outdoor activities. Everyone seemed to really enjoy the event and many had their family members attend as well.”
The event was also held with a goal of raising funds for the Parkinson’s society, as Elgin Lodge has now become a monthly support meeting place for the organization.
