Final week of Christmas Child Shoebox campaign

This is the final week, November 16th – 20th, for the Christmas Child Shoebox campaign.
“This year, many sensed the world conditions that heightened the enthusiasm to reach out to hurting, desperate, families with more packed boxes, increased donated items and shipping, as well as packing on line,” says organizer Joyce Scammell.
Boxes are still available at Turtle Crossing, 98 the Beach, Shoreline Baptist Church, Missionary Church, and Salvation Army Thrift Store and of course you can pack on Line.
The drop-off centres are as follows:
  • Joyce’s porch 588 Elgin St., Port Elgin
  • 98theBeach radio station
  • Turtle Crossing,
  • Salvation Army
  • Shoreline Baptist Church portable, Port Elgin
Operation Christmas Child is a program run by Samaritan’s Purse, a non-denominational Christian relief organization headed by Franklin Graham, the son of Billy Graham.  Since 1993, more than 100 million shoeboxes have brought a message of hope to children who have been ravaged by famine, poverty, natural disasters, war or disease.
The shoeboxes of joy will leave Port Elgin for their long journey on Tuesday, November 24th from Shoreline Baptist Church.
