When Brightshores Saugeen Shores Hospital Auxiliary received applications for its annual bursary program, it decided to make an unusual decision.
“Each year, the Auxiliary presents bursaries to two (2) Saugeen Shores secondary school students that have made the decision to enter the healthcare sector. Their applications are submitted and reviewed for consideration,” explained Auxiliary President Debra Seyler, “however, this year is extremely exciting for the Auxiliary. Our Bursary Committee received applications from four (4) exceptional students. Unable to choose, a Motion was made to present bursaries to all four (4) of these amazing students instead of our usual two (2). We also made, and passed, a Motion to increase the amount of the bursary from $1,000 to $1,500 per student.”
On June 30th, Helen Grant presented the students with their much-deserved bursaries.

Amy Chin Yut and Spoorthi Vyayakimar will both be attending Western University in Health Sciences while Avery Sheehan and Ashlyn Chiasson will be off to Fanshawe College.
