Glen Majury passed away peacefully at the Southampton Hospital with family by his side on Thursday April 25, 2019, at the age of 83.
Loving husband of the late Isabel (nee Harvie) Majury (1991), and Dorcas Wein-Majury (2015). Loving father to Kari-Lynn and Ken Perdue of Hanover and Jo-Ann and Phil Smith of Naughton. Grandpa will be sadly missed by Taylor (Curtis), Devin, Laiken, Matthew and Cory. Survived by his sister Yvonne Tottenham of Owen Sound, by his nephew Gary (Cathy) Tottenham and by his niece Gayle (Rick) McRoberts. Glen will be remembered by Dorcas’s family, Heather (Pat) Joynt, Marlyn Wein (Randy Witherspoon) and Brenna (Barry) Vincent, and their families. Predeceased by his parents Lawson & Daisy Majury.
The family would like to thank the Cancer Centre in Owen Sound Hospital and Southampton Hospital for their special care and compassion.
Glen enjoyed meeting people through his 43 year career as a real estate agent, mostly with McIntee Real Estate, Port Elgin. He was also a member of Southampton United Church where he regularly sat with David Gray in the back pew.
Glen was also a passionate collector and had one of the most extensive collections of yardsticks found anywhere and used to travel far and wide to seek them out. Having spent an afternoon looking at his collections was an experience. While yardsticks lined the walls and hung from the ceiling, he also collected church plates and beautiful Scottish Dundee marmalade jars. It was a visit that I will always remember.
Visitation at the Eagleson Funeral Home, Southampton on Tuesday April 30, 2019 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A Service to Celebrate the Life of Glen Majury will be held at the Southampton United Church on Wednesday at 11 am. Interment to follow at Douglas Hill Cemetery.
If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Owen Sound Hospital or to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to the Eagleson Funeral Home, Southampton.
