“It’s hard to believe the Gran Fondo Lake Huron, presented by Bruce Power & Suppliers has come and gone. The pandemic kept us from holding this live event for two years but we were back better than ever!” said Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation Executive Direction, Tracy Murray. “An extensive amount of planning and preparation goes into making this event not only one of the Hospital Foundation’s biggest fundraisers each year but also a fun and memorable event for all of our cyclists, sponsors and volunteers.”
This year’s ride was in support of the Foundation’s $3 million Bring Tom to Town CT scanner campaign and raised a total of $400,770 which includes a $100,000 donation matching pledge from Bruce Power.
“Bruce Power and our supplier companies were pleased to once again support the Gran Fondo Lake Huron and the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation,” said Mike Rencheck, Bruce Power President and Chief Executive Officer. “We matched the funds raised by the participating cyclists, up to $100,000 to help bring a new CT scanner to Saugeen Shores, a worthwhile project which will benefit our entire community.”
“The kindness and generosity of our community, riders and sponsors has made this year’s event a record breaker and helped to complete the fundraising needed for the $3 million scanner campaign,” added Tracy. “A heartfelt thank you to all the riders who fundraised for this ride and to all of our sponsors who made it possible for us to put on this event. Sponsorship support means that 100% of the funds raised by participants go directly to the CT scanner campaign.
The funds raised today mean that the community has successfully completed the Bring TOM To Town campaign and has reached the $3 million goal.
You registered. You rode. You saved lives.
For that we will always be so thankful.
See you in 2023!
