The Town of Saugeen Shores is conducting a study on considerations to designate certain roads as “Cottage Streets”. These are streets in the Town’s urban beachfront areas that vary from typical engineering standards and generally have narrower rights-of-way.
Study Objectives
- Develop design standards for reconstruction of Cottage Streets
- Produce map/list of Cottage Streets
- Obtain Town Council direction on proposed design standards and candidate Cottage Streets
- Provide clarity for residents and Town staff when reconstructing identified Cottage Streets
Previously, on November 28th and 29th, the Town held two in-person The Town will hold a virtual Public Information Centre (PIC) on Wednesday, December 6th that can be seen on the Town of Saugeen Shores’ YouTube Channel to watch the live stream recording.

On December 18th, the public is invited to attend a meeting to consider the changes to Saugeen Shores Local Official Plan, to be held at the PLEX at 6:30 p.m.
The purpose is to enable the Community Planning Permit System, through a Local Official Plan Amendment, for all the lands in the Town of Saugeen Shores.
Prior to the meeting, questions, concerns or objection about the application can be sent by email to bcplpe@brucecounty.on.ca, by mail or at 226-909-5515. On the day of the meeting, you can participate by telephone or virtually. Comments and opinions that are submitted prior to a decision will become part of the public record with comments provided to Council for its consideration.
